Henry Miller, American (1891 - 1980)

Henry Miller was born on December 26, 1891, in Yorkville, New York. He died on June 7, 1980, in Los Angeles, California. He was a writer and an artist. In the 1930s he wrote several successful novels including Tropic of Cancer. He was a prolific artist, painting hundreds of watercolors, some of which were published as serigraphs, lithographs, and giclées. In 1963, he began making serigraphs at the art department of Immaculate Heart College in Los Angeles, California, the same college where famed artist, Sister Mary Corita Kent created serigraphs.
