Teimur Amiry, Iranian (1932 - 2022)

Teimur Amiry was a self-taught artist. He is known for hyper-realism still life paintings often presenting a hidden image of himself within the composition.
Amiry grew up in a well-established family in Iran. When his talent for painting caught the eye of the Shah of Iran, Amiry was commissioned to paint the Shah’s wife, Farah Diba. The painting led to many more commissions for the Shah, all of which were exhibited in the royal palace in Tehran. In 1979, Amiry left Iran and travelled extensively. He finally settled in California where for many years he owned an art gallery in Beverly Hills. |
